Season Two of JN Life Class Returns on December 2

Claudine Allen, Member Ombudsman and head of the JN Circle

Season two of the JN Life Class, which seeks to empower JN members and customers to thrive as they prepare for 2021, will return on December 2. The classes will focus on issues relating to self-care, goal setting/self-actualization, parenting and financial wellness.

Claudine Allen, Member Ombudsman and head of the JN Circle, said that given the success of last season’s sessions, it was deemed useful to do Season Two.

The JN Circle Life Class will be on Wednesday, December 2, 2020 at 6:30 p.m. with a mental wellness forum, to which all JN members, employees and customers will be invited to attend.

“As we come to the end of what started out as a challenging year, filled with uncertainty and fear, we will celebrate overcoming and thriving. The session will focus on continued self-care, mental wellness and health,” Ms. Allen outlined.

She said the featured guests will be Carla Moore, consultant/researcher on gender, Youth, HIV/AIDS, dancehall and Caribbean Culture and Patrice Oberli, licensed counselling psychologist.

Kamala McWhinney, associate clinical psychologist and JN Member, will again be the host of the JN Life Class. She said Season Two promises to be informative and practical.

For the episodes following, interested persons are invited to register to join classes via the ZOOM platform; and each session will also be streamed on the JN Group’s Facebook Page. This will allow those who are having challenges accessing the platform, due to data limitations, to view and participate.

The classes will include interviews and lectures. Gamification will once again be used, and prizes will be given away during the sessions.

Ms. Allen stated that participants will still be able to access confidential counselling sessions and resources through Family Life Ministries; as well as, via the member space platform on the JN Circle webpage.

“The platform provides some level of exclusivity and will allow individual persons to access, Life Class ‘registrants-only’ content. Persons who attend all the classes will earn a virtual badge, to mark their achievement,” she informed.
